Research and technology generation are among the prime activities undertaken among several other modalities identified to address problems in agriculture, forestry and natural resources. Breakthroughs and innovations that have made modern people's live easy, comfortable and even progressive could be attributed to the significant and magnanimous impact of searching for answers through systematic inquiry and investigations.
With innumerable benefits, the Research and Development (R&D) implementing agencies of the Southern Mindanao Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium (SMARRDEC) commit to the rigorous process of research. From the agency level, significant inputs and relevant research highlights are elevated to the regional level, which has gained popularity as the “Regional Symposium on Research and Development (R&D) Highlights”.
Now, on its 16th year, this symposium is orchestrated with the goal to answer indequencies to facilitate effective delivery of technology to the end users by the technology generators. The activity will serve as venue for the presentation, discussion and dissemination of technology and information, which will be significant for the development of the region, if not on the country in general.
As an annual activity, which will pave way for promotions, transfer and utilization of technologies and research results, this will be participated by agency heads, technology generators, communicators, extension workers, research managers, policy makers, and farmer leaders.
